- Empty the barrel feed throat of polymer.
- Reduce screw speed to 10-15 rpms.
- Place protective splatter guards over die and vent.
- Pour ½ - 1 ounce of CA250 per inch of screw diameter into the screw - 4½” screw equals - four ounces of CA250.
- Follow with four ounces of polymer pellets per inch of screw diameter - 4½” screw equals 16 - 24 ounces of CA250.
- Repeat #4 and 5 until CA250 exits the die, keeping the feed throat empty at all times to reduce screw slippage.
- Continue #6 until the screw, barrel and die are clean.
- Purge until CA250 is no longer evident.
- Change screen pack
- Resume production.
